New Energy bill assistance program available
Help with Energy Bills: New "Moderate Income" Program Available
Did you know that utility assistance programs aren’t just for low-income households anymore? A new program called the Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP) is now open for individuals and families who fall into a "moderate income" bracket—meaning you might qualify even if you make too much for traditional assistance.
If accepted, households receive monthly utility bill credits for up to 18 months. As an example of how broad the limits are, a family of two can earn up to about $7,500 a month ($90,800/year) gross income and still qualify.
If you or someone you know in our community could use a little extra breathing room on utility bills, we encourage you to check it out! You can apply directly through your regular electric or gas utility company’s website—just look for the Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP) application. Or attend one of these two in-person opportunities with RG&E:
We’re here to make getting support a little easier. More households now qualify for monthly bill credits through our Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP).
- The program is for moderate income customers who don’t qualify for or aren’t enrolled in EAP.
- Enrollment lasts for 18 months once you’re accepted.
Or join us in person to enroll in the Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP).
